"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others."- Nelson Mandela

Liberty is the cornerstone of what our nation was built on. Right now our nation is failing at this fundamental right. The government is not run by angels, but people empowered to make decisions that dramatically affect the lives of others. The best restrictions are those on the government. This is clearly stated in the fears of the Preamble of the Bill of Rights. Our freedom is generally lost in the decisions of lawmakers.

The country's governments are bloated with mandates and restrictions trying to legislate morals. Laws do not make something right or wrong, they only make it illegal. More than any other dependence, Americans are growing up dependent on laws and governments to tell us how to judge between good and evil. In the information age, it is time for us to think for ourselves again.

In the last election, the Libertarian Party was closer than ever to reaching full ballot access. We need to continue this success and overcome the barriers already in place to restrict our voices from speaking against the two parties' failures in power constraint.

I am looking forward to representing the Columbus area and promoting freedom for everyone in Ohio.
